Initial Screening Process

INITIAL SCREENING PROCESS

The following are the ways to access or get to Initial Screening window:
• After saving the record in Specimen Collection and tagging it for Initial Screening

===================================================================
To proceed with Initial Screening, the DTL Analyst must do the following:

1. At the DTO main menu window, click the Initial Screening menu.

2. At the Initial Screening window, click on the drop-down arrow for status. Choose appropriate status (e.g., for initial screening, initial screening done) then click the Search button.
On the search results, click on the appropriate record then click the View button. The Initial Screening Details window will appear after clicking the view button.

3. At the Initial Screening Details window, click the save button and this button to enter screening results. This action will trigger verification of the analyst who is about to enter the result. The fingerprint Scanner window will appear.

4. While the Fingerprint Scanner window is displayed, place right index finger on the fingerprint scanner and press lightly to capture fingerprint.

A confirmation message will appear when the fingerprint has been successfully captured. Click the OK button to proceed.

This will bring you back again to the Fingerprint Scanner window where the captured right index fingerprint is displayed. Click the Done button.

Another message will appear if the captured image did not match with that of the authorized personnel. If this happens, click OK then ask the authorized person to go through fingerprint scanning.

5. When the captured image matched that of the authorized person, the Test Details window will appear.

a. Encode the Test Date/Time, Result, and Remarks. Click the find icon beside the Product ID field to reveal possible Product ID. Select and click appropriate Product ID then click the Save button. b. A window will pop up with the message: “Test details saved.” Click OK button.

6. If drug test result is POSITIVE, it is required to have the result confirmed by a Confirmatory Lab. The window below appears.

Do the following: a. Choose the confirmatory lab where the result will be forwarded; b. Click the Send Request button. The pop-up confirmation “Send Request?” appears. Click the Yes button to proceed. Otherwise, click the No button.

c. Click the Print Request button (optional; DTL clerk may do this); which generates the Request for Confirmatory Drug Testing. Click the Printer icon to print the Request for Confirmatory Drug Testing.
d. Click the Close button to exit confirmatory lab window.
7. A negative result, on the other hand, will only require saving. Printing of DTR can then be undertaken. The DTR will be generated by clicking the Print DTR button on the Initial Screening Details window (see Figure 7-4). Click the Printer icon to print the DTR.
